About Us

The membership of the Alliance for Community Media Mid-Atlantic Region is made up of all ACM members from our area. Each member who joins ACM at the national level is automatically a regional member, although ACM members from anywhere are invited to participate in our region's activities.

The Board is elected annually from the membership at our conference and trade show, which in 2007 will be held June 8 and 9 in Edison, New Jersey.

The Board is responsible for fiscal and function oversight. Our Board strives to be as representative as possible, with a goal of at least one member from each of our regional areas.

The primary yearly activity of this organization is our conference and trade show, which has become one of the largest in the US. You’ll find information about last year’s event elsewhere on this website. This year will again be in Edison, New Jersey, and will honor the great man (Thomas Edison) himself. Additional rewarding sessions and an expanded trade show are promised.

We also face a year of potential changing rules and regulations at the state and national levels. We know the value of PEG channels and need to insure citizens at every level share that knowledge and our enthusiasm. We are community builders and that needs to be broadly recognized.

To achieve our goals, all those who understand the value of access cable television must work together. There is no better place to start than right here at the Alliance for Community Media and our own Mid-Atlantic Region.

Even 230 years ago, Benjamin Franklin said it best: “We should all hang together or assuredly we shall all hang separately”.
